2. What data do we process?
Email Cleaner processes the following data:
- Email metadata: Subject, sender, date, labels/folders. This is sent to the AI provider you have chosen for analysis.
- API keys: Your AI API keys are stored locally in your email client (Google Apps Script Properties / Office Storage).
- Settings: AI provider choice, subscription tier and usage statistics are stored locally.
3. Legal basis
Processing of data is based on your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). By installing and using Email Cleaner, you consent to the add-on processing your email metadata as described in this policy.
4. AI providers
Email metadata is sent to the AI provider you have chosen:
- Google Gemini: Governed by Google's terms of service.
- Microsoft Azure OpenAI: Governed by your Azure subscription agreement.
You are responsible for reading and accepting the AI provider's terms.
5. Data storage
- API keys: Stored locally in your email client. We have no access.
- Usage statistics: Daily counter (number of analyses) stored locally. Reset daily.
- Payment data: Handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or payment details.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Third-party services that facilitate the product:
- Google (Gmail): Google Apps Script platform for the Gmail add-on.
- Microsoft (Outlook): Office Add-ins platform for the Outlook add-in.
- AI providers: Email metadata for analysis (your choice).
- Stripe: Payment processing for paid subscriptions.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access: Request an overview of data we process about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data.
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent: Uninstall the add-on at any time.

8. Deleting your data
Since all data is stored locally in your email client, deleting your data is simple:
- Open Email Cleaner settings.
- Delete your API keys.
- Uninstall the add-on from your email client.
All local data is removed when the add-on is uninstalled.
9. Cookies
This website does not use cookies or tracking technologies. No analytics services are used.
10. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the add-on or on this website.
